Here is the first pass of the animation I'm currently working on with Bobby Beck at Animationmentor.com !
The subject of the Beta Test is still secret, but I can share my video ^_^
A thing to know is that we've been 3 animators working on a 22 seconds long short for 3 weeks ! And as I am working on shots 3 and 4, I wanted to share this with you :-) This is still a WIP, and it's slowly but surely coming to life !
Enjoy !
PS: bug at the beginning... I don't know why Youtube encoded it that way... sorry !

When movies directors were asking themselves, back in 1975-1980, when Star Wars A New Hope and Alien 1 by Ridley Scott were released: "Hey guys ! Our FX are awesome ! But what will technology allow us to do in the future ?!"
Well... Now we know...
Real-time is real ! This video is a footage from Star Citizen, an upcoming simulation game, developed with CryEngine 3 ! Everything in this video is real-time !
I mean... Look at Alien, Star Wars, Star Trek, you could barely see ships at the beginning of the movie, then everything else was recorded in confined places, you could barely see some teleportations, space battles, or lightsaber battles (with limited movements), but their setup was very expensive, time consuming and, to be honest, you could SEE that it was FX and not reality ! The idea was not selling very well...
But now, we have this... 30 years later.
And let me ask you one question: What will technology allow us to do in 30 years ?
I just finished to polish this animation. I started to animate the cat yesterday because I wanted to do some testing on techniques concerning keyframing and overlapping.
Feel free to comment ;-)

Enjoy :-)
The second link is about sexy girls and the geek universe, drawn by an artist called Artgerm. This guy's been doing a lot of illustrations for DC Comics, Capcom, Square Enix, etc. : just enjoy :-)
